A veteran Change Strategist, Dr. Nicole Evans Jones has an exceptional ability to identify talent, build productive teams, fundraise; as well as, initiate and manage projects. Well-respected in local educational, political, and civic arenas, Dr. Jones is also known for her keen ability to attract, engage, retain, and provide coaching to stakeholders, non-profit organizations, and research institutions.
A well-respected turn-around educator, Dr. Jones is credited with leading two school turn-around efforts. Following the 2014-2015 school year, Dr. Jones received the State of Georgia's highest level of recognition as an "Operational" Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school and received accolades for leading one of only seven Atlanta Public Schools to achieve large enough gains on the State of Georgia's ratings index to be removed from the proposed Opportunity School District list. In 2017, she was appointed Principal of the lowest performing school in the State of Georgia, where the school's score on the State's indicator increased by 19.5 points. The gain was the 14th highest of any elementary school in Georgia, placing the school in the top 2% in the state of all schools in terms of improvement. Most recently, Dr. Jones has provided vision and leadership to the engagement strategy at middle school in Southwest Atlanta.
Dr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Howard University; a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Human Growth and Development from Clark Atlanta University; and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Clark Atlanta University. Nicole is a graduate of the 2010 and 2017 Summer Leadership Institutes at Harvard University. During the 2010 Institute, Dr. Jones participate on a principal panel and presented to educators from around the world. In February 2018, Dr. Jones leadership efforts were lauded on 'CBS This Morning “by Gayle King. As a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, Dr. Jones leverages here education; training and experiences as a turn-around/change strategist; and exceptional knowledge of the 34 CliftonStrengths Themes to help individuals and organizations "name, claim, and aim strengths to move towards excellence!"
