My career spans over two decades in K-12 Education, Higher Education, Grant Management, and Non-Profit Organlizational Leadership. I have taught high school and college level courses, as well as, held various leadership positions. I have a doctorate in Educational Administrative Leadership, a master's in Communication, and a bachelor's in English Education with additional certifications in Geosciences and Online Course Design. Currently, I am the Gear Up Project Director for Gear Up GIPS, a partnership grant located in Central Nebraska, serving over 1200 students in the graduating classes of 2024 & 2025. In addition, I teach university courses online for the state of Georgia in Communication/Public Speaking and mentor other online instructors and classroom teachers to meet the needs of virtual learners today. During the pandemic, I designed and managed a virtual secondary school for all virtual learners in my school district. I have directed other grant programs related to teacher professional development, geosciences and environmental community education, and student programs. I love travel, lived in Germany, and led study abroad trips for college students in 2011, 2014, and almost in 2020. In Summer of 2022, I traveled to Uzbekistan to facilitate professional development and student STEM programs for seven secondary schools. Special honors and awards to note: 2008 National Communication Association Sigma Chi Eta Faculty Advisor Award and 2018 NSF Trelis Award for Women in Geosciences. What I love the most about operating within my strengths is helping non-profit organizations and school districts develop the capacity of leaders, implement strengths-based systems of student and staff support, and learn how to collaborate and create synergy as a team of leaders. I love public speaking, teaching workshop groups, and one on one conversations, and I would love to be invited to help you and your team, staff, or students become more aware of your strengths and how to use them to succeed.
