Über Manger Baw

Born and raised on the border of Thailand and Myanmar, I am an indigenous Karen (K’nyaw), former refugee and an education activist. As a visionary storyteller I am always finding  innovative ways to improve myself and others. I serve as a higher education professional at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, working with Thompson Scholars to provide a resource-rich learning environment through intentional initiatives to promote life-long learning, personal development, and social responsibility.

I also volunteer my time and energy to find resources for refugee youth to assist them in navigating life  by helping them build bridges with campus partners, community members and employers.

In 2020, I founded Karen Educational Resources, a social media-based youth empowerment and educational advising program. KER's mission is to provide educational-based information and promote the importance of all types of education to the Karen, and especially refugee, audience.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a minor in Sociology and a Master's in Counseling - Higher Education Administration. I am also a Certified Next Generational Facilitator with Growing Leaders, Inc and a Certified Gallup Strengths coach.

What I can offer - Ability to explore, identify and maximize your talents to reach your goals.
