Bridging the Gap: Insights on Cost and Value of a College Degree

As tuition prices continue to rise, Americans are increasingly questioning the fairness of college costs -- but most still see value in earning a degree.

Bridging the Gap: Insights on Cost and Value of a College Degree, conducted in partnership with Gallup, examines how adults without a college degree perceive higher education and financial barriers to enrollment, and how they evaluate their investment in a degree.

The findings highlight a paradox: While only 18% of adults without a college degree believe four-year college tuition is fairly priced, 70% say earning a bachelor's degree is valuable. Many adults without a degree remain confident that higher education pays off -- 86% believe a degree pays for itself within 10 years, and students who rate their program's quality as "excellent" are far more likely to see strong career alignment.
