The latest West Health-Gallup Healthcare Affordability and Value Indexes reveal several troubling trends and few bright spots for healthcare in America.
Since 2021, the percentage of Americans classified as Cost Secure -- being able to readily access and afford basic healthcare and prescribed medicines -- is down to a record low. Meanwhile, the West Health-Gallup Healthcare Value Index finds that over one-third of Americans feel they are paying too much for the quality of care they receive and that their most recent experience was not worth the cost.

Two Healthcare Indexes -- Affordability and Value
The West Health-Gallup Healthcare Affordability Index gauges how Americans perceive and cope with the cost of care, including prescription drugs, and the West Health-Gallup Healthcare Value Index tracks if Americans believe the care they do receive is worth the cost.
Affordability Index
